As a Senior System Engineer (Metrology Equipment) you will:

  1. Derive lower level requirements and designs for each modules/elements and test campaigns for testing the metrology systems and the sub-systems.
  2. Manage supply chain for the sub-modules;
  3. Recommend design changes or substitution of materials when appropriate;
  4. Advise users of appropriate actions to correct malfunctions and may recommend changes in user procedures;


You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with the most creative minds in science and  technology to develop a revolutionary high throughput atomic force microscopy a system enabling atom-scale resolution 3D metrology at industry-level throughput, based on three pillars:

  • Unrivaled measurement speed;
  • Parallelization capability;
  • Advanced measurement modes.

You will develop a revolutionary machine which will certainly be a turning point for the future of science.


  • Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on mechatronic systems;
  • A second degree in Physics, Mathematics, or other relevant disciplines is preferred;
  • Experience in analyzing applicability, accuracy, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Experience in system design and analysis;
  • Experience in the following areas is a plus: CAD, thermal analysis, optomechanical mounting, adhesives, materials, FEA or other modeling tools;
  • Experience in system design and analysis;
  • Experience in Sub-nanometer motion stage design
  • Experience in Tuning for closed loop servo control
  • Experience in Actuator design / selection
  • Experience in Kinematics
  • Experience in Dynamics
  • Experience in MATLAB / Simulink;
